Hungerford Road, Holloway, London N7

In partnership with a local developer, we gained planning permission from Islington Council to convert a four-storey Victorian semi-detached villa property, into four flats. This included a 3 bedroom family ground floor flat with a relandscaped garden, plus three further flats on the upper storeys.

We also built a new house along side the main building, on the site of a former garage structure. It is a contemporary, ingeniously designed, split level house providing three bedrooms and an open plan living-dining-kitchen space off the garden.

We proposed a cladding system to the front and rear facades as a combination of reflective, translucent, opaque and clear glass. The house provides excellent sustainable credentials including a super-insulated ‘green’ roof, and is an excellent example of an innovative family home occupying a small urban infill site.
