We were approached to investigate the possibility of building a home gym with lap pool. We looked at various options which were costed and assessed for their viability and disruption.

We concluded that the best solution was a new structure set at the back of the garden. This gave the opportunity to create a counterpoint to the house and to make a more defined space for the landscaped area between.

The house is in the Maida Vale Conservation Area, and we managed to gain approval for this under ‘permitted development’ by designing it in such a way as to dissipate the need to obtain planning permission.

It was designed in a modular format to facilitate a quick construction programme, and with many prefabricated components in order to achieve a high standard of finish whilst minimising disruption and noise on site.
