A family returning from an extended period working abroad approached us with a view to merging and upgrading two flats on the lowest two levels of a Grade II Listed property overlooking the Regents Park Zoo and canal. The flats had been badly converted in the 80’s and the main reception room of the original house had been partitioned and many of its period features damaged. Our approach was to restore these spaces to their former glory with open plan living / kitchen / dining / study areas.
The four bedrooms and three bathrooms are on the lower level.
It was a key consideration to make their home flexible — to be generous enough to nurture their growing family, whilst having space to throw a great party.
