ESCP

A Decade of Transformation and Adaptation

Over the past decade, SQFT has worked closely with ESCP Business School to support the ongoing evolution of its London campus on Finchley Road, Hampstead.

Housed within a substantial Victorian building, formerly home to a seminary and later Hackney College, the campus presents both the opportunities and challenges of adapting historic educational architecture to meet the demands of a leading international business school.

Our work has encompassed a wide range of projects, from the creation and refurbishment of teaching facilities to the introduction of new student social and breakout spaces, both internally and within the surrounding grounds.

Most recently, an ambitious programme has focused on transforming redundant roof space into two new lecture theatres and associated breakout areas. This complex intervention has involved significant asbestos removal, extensive reroofing and careful repairs to the building's historic brick and stone façades.

Throughout our longstanding relationship with ESCP, the emphasis has been on unlocking the potential of the existing building, balancing sensitive conservation with contemporary educational requirements, and delivering improvements within the constraints of a busy, operational campus.

The result is an evolving educational environment that respects its Victorian heritage while continuing to adapt to the needs of a modern, internationally renowned institution.
